“Ember & Clay, a small pottery studio. We make tableware, run beginner wheel-throwing classes on weekends, and take commissions. Warm and handmade feeling — terracotta and cream, a characterful serif, lots of breathing room. Nothing corporate. Build it.”
Everything below — the palette, the typefaces, the section order — came from that paragraph.
Pottery made by hand with intention and fire
Ember & Clay is a small pottery studio where we throw tableware, teach beginners the wheel, and bring custom ideas to life. Everything we make starts with clay and honest craft — no shortcuts, no mass production. Whether you're looking for a one-of-a-kind bowl, a place to learn, or a special commission, you've found the right studio.
What we do
- Handmade tableware — bowls, plates, mugs, vessels
- Beginner wheel-throwing classes on weekends
- Custom commissions and one-off pieces
How it works
Classes run on weekends and are built for people new to the wheel. You'll learn to center, open, and throw a simple form in your first session — and leave with something you've made. Each class is small and hands-on, with time to experiment.
- No experience needed
- Small groups, personal attention
- You keep what you throw
Tableware and commissions
We make functional pieces — bowls and plates that sit well in a hand, mugs that hold warmth, vessels that earn their place on a shelf. Commissions welcome. Tell us what you're imagining and we'll work with you to bring it to life.
- Small-batch production
- Custom sizing and glazes
- Built to last and to be used
Our studio
We work in a small space where every piece is thrown and finished by hand. No wheels or patterns — each piece carries the mark of the making. Clay, fire, and time. That's the process.
